California Government Code Section 50270 requires appointments to regional bodies be made by a selection committee comprised of mayors or their designees from each city in the county. The Cities Association City Selection Committee fulfills this legality and will meet at 4:30pm on January 26, 2023 to appoint and nominate electeds to upcoming vacancies:

2. Bay Area Air Quality Management District Board of Directors (BAAQMD)
- SCC Seat 2 – Term expiring 1/1/23 (Currently held by Hon. Sergio Lopez, Campbell)
- SCC Seat 1 – Term expiring 2/1/23 (Currently held by Hon. Rob Rennie, Los Gatos)
3. Local Agency Formation Commission (LAFCO)
Term expiring May 2024 (Hon. Rich Constantine, Morgan Hill terming out)
4. Measure A (2016 Housing Bond) Independent Citizens’ Oversight Committee
Term expiring 2/10/25 (Hon. Glenn Hendricks, Sunnyvale terming out)
5. Metropolitan Transportation Commission (MTC)
Term expiring 2/23 (Currently held by Hon. Margaret Abe-Koga, Mountain View)
6. Redevelopment Dissolution Countywide Oversight Board for Santa Clara County – Alternate Position
Appointee serves as long as they serve in elected office
7. Recycling & Waste Reduction Commission (RWRC)
- West Valley Cities – Campbell, Los Gatos, Monte Sereno, Saratoga (Hon. Mary-Lynne Bernald, Saratoga terming out)
