Advocacy

Legislation

The Cities Association by-laws establishes the Legislative Action Committee (LAC).
  • Each city appoints a representative and an alternate to LAC.
  • Each city receives one vote.
The purpose of LAC:
  • Enable the Cities Association to advocate on issues of mutual interest
  • Committee provides basic legislative updates to cities with little or no legislative staff.
  • Committee organizes emergency responses to urgent issues.
LAC meets as needed before the Board of Directors meetings.
