CASCC Stands with Black Lives Matter

Posted on June 15, 2020

At the June 11, 2020 Board of Directors meeting, the Board approved the Black Lives Matters Resolution.

This resolution was proposed by Vice Mayor Jones (San José). After a very impassioned speech by Mayor Constantine (Morgan Hill)  (1 hour 29-minute mark), the Board adopted the resolution and then paused.
The Board is determined to heed the words of their colleagues and explore opportunities for sincere dialogue, collaboration, and change.  Topics of discussion mentioned are housing discrimination and production of BMR, funding for mental health, support of business groups, police reform, and race/equity/inclusion lens with all policies.
